PKS Sketch Challenge #44 With a Twist

Made this card for the Peachy Keen challenge, you had to follow the sketch and the twist was to use a monochromatic color scheme. This was truly a challenge for me. I have a difficult time picking my paper anyway.

For the card I used Core'Dinations for the glitter background I used the MME Out and About stack. Made a fan, added a flower and ribbon and the sentiment is PK-859 and the flower stamp is Stampin Up Silhouette Sentiments. It really looks pretty good, I am having trouble taking my pictures and getting the true colors to show up in the photo. If anybody has any tips on how to get good pictures of my projects please let me know, the color in the photos never seem right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for stopping by!!

  3. Your card is pretty! So glad you played along with us at PKS! Good luck!

I am not the best photographer, but here are some things I do. I have a make-shift light box. I have a box that is 12x12 and about 6 inches deep. It is an all white box. With the box standing I place the card inside the box, standing and slightly turned, so that it is not a straight on shot. Then I use a very bright light aimed into the box. I try to make it bright enough so that the camera doesn't flash. Sometimes I have used two lamps and removed the lampshades to get enough light. Here is a link for making one. http://www.wikihow.com/Create-an-Inexpensive-Photography-Lightbox Mine is no where near as involved. I just used a white box. I may step it up a bit in the future. Sorry to write a book. Hope it helps.

  5. Your card is beautiful Cindy. Janice's suggestion is the best idea, but in the meantime, try taking the photo outdoors if possible, or get a daylight (blue) bulb. Thanks for joining in with us at Peachy Keen. Good luck. xx
