A Thank You Card PKS Sketch Challenge #48

Peachy Keen Stamps is having a sketch challenge, and I wanted to try to work outside my comfort zone and use some pattern paper. I don't know why it is but I rarely use pattern paper and there is some beautiful paper out there. I kept it simple following the sketch and I'm somewhat satisfied with it. I used the Mirabelle Paper Studio paper stack for my card. I added some trim at the top and used a Martha Stewart scalloped punch and layered it with ribbon.
Well thats it for my challenge card, you still have until tomorrow morning if you want to do the Favorite Things Blog hop and be entered for my Elegant Cakes Cartridge, which I will announce the winner tomorrow morning!! Wishing everyone a fabulous Sunday evening!!

Good Saturday afternoon everyone, if you are looking for the My Favorite things Blog Hop click here, you have until Monday morning March 28 to be eligible for the Cricut cart I'm giving away!! It's a short sweet hop with some great projects!!!
Okay on to the challenge, Kristal is having a challenge over at Getting Cricky and wants to see any projects with a pack your bags travel theme!! I can't think of a thing I enjoy more than hopping on our boat and exploring different stops on the waterways, it is sooo relaxing and a great way to spend time with family!! That is what inspired me for my card. I used Lifes a Beach cartidge for my cut and Stand and Salute for the banner. I added two eyelets to attach my ribbon trim, love this trim, it came from Hobby Lobby and I think I only paid a dollar for 9 feet. Pop dots for the ships wheel and the banner and used my I-rock to attach the stars and studs on the wheel.

I also finished off the inside to cordinate with the outside of the card. I hope this will inspire you to jump over to Getting Cricky and join in on the fun!! Will also be entering it into the Wacky Wednesday Challenge over at More than Favors. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!

Hot Pink & Orange??

Crafting With Chirstina is having a challenge in which you must use Hot Pink, Orange and white. Ok I was totally stumped. I do not do well with color combos anyway, something I'm trying to learn, but still have a difficult time with. I decided on something simple for the challenge. I used the cuttlebug and embossed the white with a sizzix die, used my nestabilities and punched the label out with hot pink and orange. I also added 2 hot pink buttons and one orange and added some twine. Feel free to give me any advice you can with working with colors and color combinations, I can use the help! Thanks for stopping by!!

Spring Fold Card

Today is another first for me, a Spring Fold card. Not sure if I like it, there is no place to write a note unless you use the back side. I followed the directions from Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial. I used Core' dinations cardstock, and Core'dinations Whitewash for all except the pattern paper on the bottom strip and that is DCWV the Luxury Stack. My butterfly cut is from Home Accent cart, and I used my Spellbinders for my scalloped labels.

As you see my little bug wanted to be in on the pictures too!! He blends in quite nicely!! Will be entering this into the following challenges:

My Hubby's Birthday Card

Good morning everyone!! Did you notice, I have a new Scraproom companion, Mr. Cricut has come to stay with me and asked to be my model!!! So Excited, now I will have someone to listen to my ramblings and not give me any grief about it, he's sooo cute!!

So here he is displaying hubby's birthday card and loving it!! For the card I used Simply charmed for the fishing pole, the fishing vest came from Everyday Paper Dolls and the boots and the fishing net came from Camp Out, which I have had for a very long time and have never used. On the inside I used A Childs Year. I added twine to the fishing pole and the boots, made a hook from craft wire and used magic mesh for the net, lots of textures going on. Also I actually burned the edges of the gingham paper to give it that rustic look. Finished it off with a stamp from Papertrey Ink "Birthday Fishes" add a cute little black bow. On the inside I added another strip of the gingham paper attached my cut and stamped it with the Happy Birthday stamp from Stampin up!! And I will give this to my honey on Saturday!!
Will be enetering this card into the
Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #20 -- One for the Boys
Die Cuttin Divas #6 -- Unused and Unloved
The Cuttlebug Spot -- All tied up Twine Challenge
As always hope everyone is having a fabulous day, hop over to the challenges and join in on the fun, ta ta for now!!

Rainbows & Butterflies

Todays card was inspired by the challenge over at Jitterbuggin challenge.
The challenge to create a project with a rainbow or rainbow like colors, a butterfly and emboss something. I cut the rainbow, butterfly and the sun from the Create a Critter cartridge. I had to manipulate the rainbow with my gypsy because it had a heart on it and I didn't want that on the card. I'm not sure what's going on with the butterfly in the photo I used heat embossing on it with a stardust embossing powder. It's not blotchy like that just glittery. I slighty chalked each layer on the rainbow and inked on the sun and of course added the adorable Peachy Keen Stamp. My sentiment and paper are both from Papertrey Ink. I would love to hear what you think!!

A Joy Fold Card for a Special Friend

Blockquote

I made another new fold today, its called a Joy Fold card, it's a fairly simple card. I followed the directions of Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial, just click on the link it will take you straight to it. You can make it whatever size you like but I used a 6 1/4x 4 1/4 cardstock and scored at the 2" mark and fold this will be the base of the card. Next cut a 3 x 6 " piece of cardstock and score at 3" and fold in half. This is the center flap, then you just decorate the pieces the way you like and adhere the center flap onto card base. You need a circle or something in the left hand corner to tuck your card flap into, so it will stay shut. I made this for a dear friend of mine, her birthday is Thursday.

Will be entering this in the Fun Fold Card challenge over at Pause Dream Enjoy, I think this is an awesome challenge!! Well that's it for now, see you later!!

An Oval Easel Card

I just love the Easel cards, so today I decided to try my hand at a Round Easel card, ok it's oval. I used a Childs Year, welded two scalloped ovals together and made the height 10" so it would make a 5" card. I scored one side at 2 1/2". Cut another oval at 5", one at 4.75 and another at 4.5 to give me my top layer. I cut the adorable lamb from Create a Critter (Looks like the one on Sugar & Spice Cart.) Instead of using the face it cuts I used a PKS critter face, Just love these stamps. I also did not use the bows it cuts, I made mine with purple ribbon. I stamped the outside with a Papertrey Ink Stamp-Feel Better. I have not decide my inside sentiment yet, I may just write a sweet note. I made an embellishment for the inside to hold my card up when I open it, so there it is my oval easel card.

Will be entering this into the following challenges:
Getting Cricky---Simply Sunday
Scrappy Moms--Terrific Tuesday
Ok, they all have links to the challenges, so jump on in and have some fun with them.
Hope everyone has a fabulously fun weekend!!

Good Friday morning to everyone, WooHoo the weekend is here!! This morning I want to share a card I made for CCCC#8 Challenge over at More Than Favors. The challenge was to create a project using the Stretch Your Imagination cart. So I wanted to use a stamp I got from Papertrey Ink so I decided on the caterpillar/inch worm and cut him at 3 inches, so cute. I used the sizzix Twizzle embossing folder, used the Spellbinder die to cut and emboss my square for my sentiment added a pretty green ribbon and Tah-dah I have a card just to say Hi!!

Hope everyone will stop in More than Favors and play along and hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

Fantabulous Cricut Tree Challenge Card

This is the card I made for the Challenge Me Monday #50 at the Fantabulous Cricut. The challenge was "Tree Time". I used the cut from Winter Frolic, it is actually just the branch and birdhouse, I added a tree by free hand cutting and attaching the limb in behind my tree. I used Cappuccino twine for attaching the bird house to the limb and also add a few small Jolee's flowers onto the tree. The ribbon is actually a ribbon I received off of a Christmas present that I recycled, the stamp is part of a TPC Studio pack that I got on clearance from Hobby Lobby, yes you can call me frugal! I hope you will join in on the challenge and have a fabulous day!!

PKS Sketch Challenge Entry

I really enjoy doing the Peachy Keen Sketch challenges, they have the greatest sketches!! You should really give them a try, it's an easy way to create fabulous cards! This is my take on the sketch. I Hope you like it!

!
I debossed my card background and used the Plantin Schoolbook to cut the large flower, the small flowers are punches I layered and added a pink pearl. I cut my circles from George and Basic shapes. The flower ribbon was actually too light so I inked it with Martha Stewart pink ink and added a little bling around my outer circle. Your turn hop on over to Peachy Keen and join in on the fun!!

Triangle Tri-Fold Card

I created this card for a challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #19-- a green theme with some ribbon somewhere on the project, The Paper Variety-Lets See Green and Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #3. The Challenge was to create a project using green, white and one optional color.
This is the first time I tried a Triangle Tri-fold, and it is not to difficult. I took a 4x12 piece of cardstock and scored it 4 and 8". Then you score your fist block from corner to corner on a diagonal and repeat for the last block, make sure you score them both in the same direction. Fold them in opposite directions so they meet each other when you close the card. I then add 2 scalloped circles, when you attach the pop dots only attach to the one half of the fold so you can fold your card and your ribbon goes under this scallope to tie your card closed. I know this is not very good directions, there are some fabulous Utube videos, just google a Triangle Tri-fold card and you'll have one made in no time.
The cupcake cut is From My Kitchen cart and the stamped sentiment is from my very first Papertrey Ink set, love them. The inside sentiments are computer generated. If you have any questions on how to make this card will be happy to try and answer. Come join in on all the fun and thanks for stopping by!!
