Happy Easter!!

WooHoo, it's almost Easter!! Exciting time, family time, fun time and yes Chocolate time, I love chocolate!! Hard to believe this is only the second Easter card I've made, slacking because of my daughter playing HS softball, forgot how much they travel to play. Anyway on to my card, Fantabulous Cricut has a challenge going on right now "Do the Bunny Hop" so I wanted to use an Easter egg and a bunny and this is what I came up with.

Material

  • Paper -- Core Dinations, DCWV & Martha Stewart

  • Cricut--George basic Shapes for egg and Cricut Critters for the grass

  • Bunny--this is a coloring page I shrunk and used my color pencils on

  • tag--Spellbinders S4169 small labels

  • ribbon--Hobby Lobby
You have until April 24 to join in, so hop on over to Fantabulous Cricut and join in on the fun!!

Emboss Resist Technique

Happy Friday Everyone!! I tried a new technique today(new to me) it's a resist technique with ink and embossing. Pretty simply to do, choose a stamp you would like to incorporate in your card, stamp it with VersaMark and add embossing powder. Most of the ones I've seen have used clear embossing powder, but I had just gotten some Ranger Lemon Yellow and wanted to give it a try. So after applying embossing powder use heat gun and don't over heat. I switched up using the different Funny Flowers from Peachy Keen Stamps they're so sweet, now you just start sponging on different colored inks lightly, getting a blended look until your happy with the result. If you get some ink clinging to the embossed lines you can take a baby wipe or damp cloth and lightly go over it. Now you have a background paper to match your project. If you have any questions just drop me a line and I will help. Also if you have any tips on coloring a project let me know, this is my first time coloring an image. It's okay but I wish I could afford a few Copic markers. Will be entering this into the Peachy Keen Challenge #13 (Lets Face it Friday--Mother's Day). Thanks for stopping by!! Cindy

Birthday Stair Step Card

After seeing the Disney Center Piece over at Everyday Cricut I was inspired to pull out my Disney cartridge "Mickey and Friends"! This is my first attempt at making a Stair Step card and I love that you can add so much to one. This is only my seconded time using the Mickey cart, there are alot of layers to this cart. Make sure you use good paper, a sticky mat and correct speed and pressure. I kept loosing my tongue it was itty bitty and I did not have the correct face color so I used white cardstock and colored it in with Water color pencil (wish I had an Imagine). I love the Disney Characters, and I think Minnie turned out pretty good. You need to go over to Everyday Cricut and see the Fabulous Center peice with all the Alice in Wonderland characters, sooo cute and while you are there leave a comment, they are giving away an Imagine!! Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and a crafty weekend!!

I Made a Funny!!

Okay peeps, I think it is funny, hopefully you will too!! Usually I make sincere cards, this just kind of happened and I liked it!! This is what it reads, on outside "The Easter Bunny seems to have left a present on your doorstep...." and on the inside it reads, "Feel free to use this card to clean it up, Happy Easter". I found this sentiment on a computer program I have "Scrapbook Factory", whenever I get stuck I use it for ideas and when I seen this I already had my card made and thought it fit.

  • Core Dinations & DCWV paper

  • Spellbinder-Scalloped Ovals Label

  • Cuttlebug Organic Borders

  • Cricut Cart-Simply charmed cut at 2.5

A Simple Little Thank You Card

I love making Thank You cards, I think it brightens the receivers day and it gives me a reason to make another card!! This is made with no Cricut, oh my, that doesn't happen to often. Anyway the paper I used for the background is s-e-i and the rest of the papers are Core Dinations. I cut the label out with my Spellbinders and embossed it with a sizzix folder and I apologize because I do not know the name of it. I used my new Kinderstampo Say it in Type stamp set, let me tell you this is a fabulous set because you can say anything you want, so versatile. Ok on to the card, I used a couple Paper Studio flowers and layered them and added a button and just cut a couple leaves to tuck in behind. My trim came from Hobby Lobby and I finished it off with my I-Rock. Hope this inspires you to send out them Thank You cards and brightens someones day!!

I'm really hoping this is a better week, last week was different to say it nicely, and I did not get a chance to do much crafting or blogging. Ok here is hoping everyone has a fabulous crafty week!!

Getting Cricky Inspiration Card

This is a card I made for K Andrew's Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky. She has a challenge going on to make an Inspired Heart project (totally up to your interpretation) using any materials you want. My inspiration is I love to go outside and see nature, birds, flowers, etc. I found a hummingbird I have never cut on the Lyrical letters cart. It doesn't have any layers or shadows with it so I cut one in blue and one in black and offset them just a little bit, I also cut another one just in yellow so I could use the beak. The scroll came from the Home Accents cart and I used it for the stem of the flower. The Inspire stamp came from the KinderStampo new Grunchy Inspiration Line. Hope my card adds a little inspiration to your day. Hop on over to Getting Cricky and join the challenge!! Smile and have a fabulous day!

Cards made with some New Stamps!!!

Received my new stamps from KinderStampo this week!! I oredered 2 sets from her new release, I loved them sooo much I have ordered the 2 remaining sets!! These are some of the most versatile stamps sets I've seen and the quality is 2nd to none. Here is my first project I've made with my stamps. I used the Sweethearts Cart to cut the love birds and the gold banner. I used Papertrey Ink paper and Swiss Dot embossing folder. The sentiment is from the KinderStampo "Vintage Love" set. She has free shipping right now!!

The next card was done with the "Grunchy Inspiration" set. I used DCWV background paper added Papertrey Ink Dot paper. Cut a swirl from the Home Accent cart, and a little birdie from Create A Critter cart, added a flower and stamped my sentiments, embossed them with copper powder and added some ribbon. My leaves are just free handed cuts and inked. Hope you like them! Here are the Stamp sets I used, they're lots of stamps to a set.

Hope everyone has a glorious Sunday!!
